Husband and wife team Ernie Henson and Christine Tasche selected the name Willmore to mount above the door as tribute to William E. Willmore, Long Beach’s first real estate developer– the first person to visualize the area as the perfect place for a thriving city.
The concept for our design sprang from Christine’s love of teaching local history to her 3rd grade students. As you enter Willmore, you’ll be greeted by vintage and rustic furnishings and décor. Some pieces include the upright piano that Christine inherited from her grandmother, and the Burial Flag of Ernie’s late father, Jimmy Henson, a Vietnam veteran. Employees dress to evoke eras gone by, often wearing trademark hats.
